We are experienced therapists and medical providers with training and expertise in psychedelic-assisted therapy, mental health, and trauma recovery. Your safety and well-being—both physical and psychological—are our top priorities. We go beyond surface level symptom relief, helping you find deep, lasting healing at the source of your pain. Through ketamine therapy, movement, sound, art, EMDR, and IFS-informed parts work, we guide you toward true transformation by reconnecting mind, body, and spirit. Our retreats foster community, connection, and integration, because true healing happens together.
This innovative approach combines the benefits of ketamine with the transformative elements of psychedelic-assisted therapy. Unlike traditional antidepressants, ketamine engages the brain's glutamate system and creates new neural pathways that can lead to rapid relief from treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and eating disorders. In doing so, ketamine opens the door for deeper healing by preparing the brain for meaningful change, offering a level of transformation that other treatments often can't reach.
Beyond its impact on the brain, ketamine also softens the ego, bringing down defenses and allowing repressed memories, emotions, and traumas to emerge during therapy. With a brain primed for healing, careful preparation, expert guidance, and a safe, nurturing environment, ketamine therapy offers a unique opportunity for deep emotional processing and life-changing breakthroughs. It offers new hope for those worn down by treatments that only skim the surface, leaving the real work of healing unfinished.
Ketamine offers new hope for those struggling with depression, especially when traditional treatments have failed. Studies have shown that 67% of individuals with treatment-resistant depression saw at least a 50% reduction in symptoms of depression and suicidal ideation following ketamine treatment. This rapid relief provides individuals with the opportunity to use ketamine-assisted psychotherapy to explore and process underlying issues, leading to deeper and more lasting relief.
For clients with PTSD, ketamine therapy can be a transformative tool in breaking the cycle of trauma. Ketamine's effects on the brain help reduce hyperarousal and intrusive symptoms, making it easier to engage in deep trauma work during therapy sessions. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy further facilitates the reprocessing of trauma narratives, fostering a profound sense of safety, healing, and empowerment.
Ketamine therapy offers relief for clients struggling with anxiety and OCD by disrupting overactive neural pathways that fuel anxious thoughts and compulsive behaviors, allowing space for new perspectives and greater psychological and behavioral flexibility. This calming effect creates a window of opportunity to explore and address the root causes of anxiety and OCD in therapy, fostering awareness, resilience, and lasting change.
Ketamine can be especially beneficial for clients with eating disorders, as its impact on neuroplasticity supports changes in rigid thought patterns and behaviors related to food, exercise, and body image. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy helps process and heal underlying trauma and root causes of the eating disorder, and is also effective in treating many conditions that often co-occur with eating disorders, such as anxiety and OCD.

Is ketamine therapy safe?
Yes, ketamine therapy is considered safe when administered in a controlled, therapeutic setting by trained professionals. Ketamine has been used in medical settings since the 1970's, originally as an anesthetic, and more recently, at lower doses, as a breakthrough treatment for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health challenges. Safety is our top priority. Every client undergoes medical clearance before beginning treatment to ensure it is appropriate for them. During ketamine sessions, clients are closely monitored by experienced professionals and are never left alone, ensuring both physical and psychological well-being. After treatment, clients have follow-up care with a physician to support continued safety and effectiveness.
Who can benefit from a retreat?
We work with individuals and couples struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders, or life transitions, as well as individuals seeking self-exploration and growth. Many mental health professionals or other healers find our retreats helpful in addressing burnout.
What are the benefits of receiving ketamine therapy in a group or retreat setting?
Healing in community has been practiced for thousands of years, especially in traditions that use psychedelics and plant medicines for transformation and self-discovery. Group healing experiences provide a sense of connection, shared wisdom, and deepened personal insight. Processing emotions alongside others who are on a similar path can help reduce isolation, provide new perspectives, and create a sense of belonging and support that enhances your healing journey. The group process itself is healing, as witnessing and being witnessed in a safe, intentional space fosters deeper understanding and integration of the experience.
I’ve never been part of a community or group while receiving care before. What can I expect?
While it might seem counterintuitive to involve strangers in your healing journey—especially if you’ve worked one-on-one with care providers in the past—our clients often see faster, more effective results when incorporating our groups and retreats. This is because much of the depression, anxiety, and shame you’ve experienced in the past has taken place in solitude. But at Houston Healing Collective, we believe that true healing happens in relationships and in community.
Can you guarantee that I’ll see results? I feel like I’ve tried everything already.
