You’re not alone—and things can change

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, isolating, and all-consuming. At Houston Healing Collective, we understand how anxiety can take hold of your life, and we’re here to help you find relief and reclaim your sense of calm.

Our approach to anxiety therapy is rooted in compassion, connection, and evidence-based practices.

We don’t just focus on managing symptoms—we work with you to uncover the deeper roots of your anxiety, so you can experience lasting change and build a life that feels grounded and fulfilling.

Therapy for Anxiety

When anxiety or depression leave you feeling stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed, healing begins through safe, supportive relationships and meaningful connection. As an attachment-informed practice, we explore how early relational experiences may shape your current patterns of fear, self-doubt, or disconnection.

This deeper understanding helps us address the root causes of distress—not just the symptoms. We incorporate evidence-based therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and ketamine therapy to support lasting change and emotional well-being.

Through this integrative approach, we help you gently challenge harmful beliefs while fostering a greater sense of self-compassion and emotional resilience. Our goal is to support not just symptom relief, but meaningful transformation: a more connected, empowered life rooted in strength, hope, and authenticity.

It's About the Journey, Not the Destination

But it's always helpful to know what direction you're headed in. That's why we use a collaborative approach that helps you clearly identify goals and ensures you’re moving towards the life you want to live. We know that everyone's path to healing is different, so we meet you where you are and work at your pace, with compassion.

Our tailored approach, whether through traditional talk therapy, EMDR, DBT, or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, helps you reach a renewed sense of purpose, connection, and hope.

At Houston Healing Collective, we’ve created a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. Our team of skilled therapists is dedicated to walking alongside you, offering guidance and tools to help you move through anxiety with confidence.

Whether you’re dealing with generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, or something else entirely, we’re here to meet you exactly where you are.

How We Can Help You Manage Your Anxiety

We use a blend of proven therapies and personalized strategies to address anxiety in a way that works for you. Our integrative approach may include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Using a blend of ACT and DBT, you'll learn how to sit with discomfort without letting it take over. These therapies help you stay present, manage overwhelming emotions, and take meaningful steps toward your values—even when anxiety is loud. The goal isn’t to get rid of anxiety, but to build the skills to live fully alongside it, with clarity, flexibility, and self-kindness.

  • EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful therapeutic method that helps you process traumatic memories and break free from patterns that keep you stuck. Using bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping), EMDR supports your brain’s natural healing process—so you can finally move forward feeling stronger and more free.

  • Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS):  DNMS works with different parts of the self—especially those shaped by early unmet needs or relational wounds. If your anxiety has roots in childhood or past relationships, this powerful method helps you reconnect with your inner strengths and heal from the inside out.

  • Ketamine therapy : For some, anxiety can feel so entrenched that traditional therapy alone doesn’t offer enough relief. Ketamine therapy, when used mindfully and in a supported therapeutic setting, can help “reset” stuck patterns in the brain and open a window for deep emotional healing. We’ll guide you through this experience with care and intention, always centered on your safety and well-being.

We’ll also explore how past experiences, relationships, and lifestyle factors may be contributing to your anxiety, so you can gain deeper insight and create meaningful change.

Our goal is to help you move beyond simply coping with anxiety. We want to empower you to build a life that feels authentic, connected, and full of possibility.

Through therapy, you’ll develop tools to manage anxiety in the moment, while also gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and your needs.

Imagine waking up feeling grounded, facing challenges with confidence, and experiencing moments of joy without the weight of constant worry. This is the kind of transformation we’re here to support.

Other Details About our Anxiety Therapy

In an anxiety therapy session, you can expect to explore the deeper experiences, patterns, and underlying causes that may be driving your anxiety. Together, you and your therapist will work to uncover these root factors, creating space for true healing rather than simply managing symptoms. From there, you’ll also learn and practice practical skills—such as relaxation techniques, problem-solving strategies, and ways to challenge irrational fears—to help you navigate daily life with greater ease and confidence.

Anxiety therapy is a proactive step toward managing anxiety, providing tools and strategies to cope better with daily stressors and challenges. Engaging in therapy can lead to significant improvements in your quality of life and overall well-being.

What can I expect during an anxiety therapy session?

Yes, all therapy sessions are confidential. As therapists, we are bound by ethical codes and laws to protect your privacy, and they can only share information with your explicit consent or under specific legal circumstances.

Is anxiety therapy confidential?

There are different types of therapies to help manage your anxiety, Houston Healing Collective specifically:

  • ACT + DBT: These therapies help you stay present, manage emotions, and take meaningful action, even when anxiety is overwhelming.
  • EMDR: EMDR helps you safely process trauma and break free from patterns that keep you stuck in fear or distress.
  • DNMS: This trauma-informed approach supports healing from anxiety rooted in unmet childhood needs or relational wounds.
  • Ketamine Therapy: In a safe, supportive setting, ketamine can help unlock deep healing and shift long-standing patterns of anxiety.

Which type of anxiety therapy does Houston Healing Collective offer?

In an anxiety therapy session, we'll begin by exploring the underlying factors that may be fueling your anxiety. This deeper understanding creates a foundation for lasting change. From there, we'll work together to develop and practice strategies—such as relaxation techniques, problem-solving, and reframing unhelpful thoughts—that help you navigate challenges with greater ease.

What can I expect during an anxiety therapy session?

The duration of anxiety therapy varies depending on the individual's specific needs and the severity of their anxiety. Some people see improvement in a few sessions, while others may need longer-term therapy. Typically, therapy sessions are once a week and can last from a few months to a year.

How long does anxiety therapy typically last?

If you ever feel like therapy isn’t helping, we encourage you to bring this up with your therapist. Sometimes, it may be a matter of adjusting our approach, and other times, exploring the possibility of working with a different therapist might be the right step. We’ll also help you consider other factors—such as medication, lifestyle changes, and the support systems around you—that can influence how effective therapy feels. Our goal is to work together to make sure you’re getting the care and progress you need.

What happens if anxiety therapy doesn’t work?

back to questions

Who do you work with?

Our services for teens (12+) and adults include individual therapy, family and couples therapy, group therapy, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, EMDR, and specialized intensives & ketamine retreats. Our comprehensive approach ensures that you receive the best possible care tailored to your unique journey.

back to questions

Is it possible for me to fully recover from my eating disorder or heal my complex trauma? I feel like the work never ends.

Yes! It’s possible to lead a more free and fulfilling life that honors your past and creates space for a brighter future. If your healing journey has ever felt disorganized or like it’s one step forward and two steps back, our innovative and specialized treatment options could likely be beneficial for you. Oftentimes therapy only scratches the surface, offering skills to help you survive, not thrive. We're committed to diving deep to help you heal your pain at the source. That's where true healing happens.

back to questions

I’m not sure about ketamine or psychedelics in general. Can I still work with you?

Absolutely! While Houston Healing Collective offers ketamine-assisted therapy, we recognize that it's not for everyone! We are trained to treat eating disorders, trauma and anxiety, and family conflict through diverse therapy modalities, including EMDR & DBT, allowing us to find a treatment plan that works for you and your family.

back to questions

Can you guarantee that I’ll see results? I feel like I’ve tried everything already.

We understand your frustration with your journey so far and are here to honor your experience. That said, there isn’t a guarantee of what will or won't work for you. Our biggest intention with building your care plan is to make sure you have flexibility and fluidity as we determine which method(s) are the most aligned for you or your loved one.

back to questions

I’ve never been part of a community or group while receiving care before. What can I expect?

While it might seem counterintuitive to involve strangers in your healing journey—especially if you’ve worked one-on-one with care providers in the past—our clients often see faster, more effective results when incorporating our groups and retreats. This is because much of the depression, anxiety, and shame you’ve experienced in the past has taken place in solitude. But at Houston Healing Collective, we believe that true healing happens in relationships and in community.

back to questions

Do you take insurance?

However, we will be able to provide you with an itemized receipt (called a superbill) that you can submit to insurance for potential reimbursement.
